In light of the most recent, "A Midsummer Night's Dream Adventure", by Night Owl, I thought it would only be fitting to create a decent OSR based on Ancient Greece. I don't recall seeing a game that was designed using Oe to emulate this genre. Mazes & Minotaurs probably comes closest, but in fairness, it is its own game system.
Archetypes in Barbarians & Basilisks include: Barbarians, Sorcerers, and Rogues.
Mazes & Minotaurs has (and others): Warriors (Amazons, Barbarians, Centaurs, Spearmen), Magicians (Elementalists, Nymphs, Nature Priests, Sorcerers), Specialists (Hunters, Thieves)
My own ideas (roughly cobbled together) from the internet are: Hoplite / Soldier (Cavalry, Archers, Light Infantry, Peltasts - equipped with javelins and shields, Skirmishers - lightly armed / used for harassing the enemy and scouting) Magos / Magicians (Seers - divination, fortune telling etc., Pharmakis” - masters of herbs and potions - makes medicine / drugs / potions / poison, Aoidos - singer, enchantress, Graus - old woman with white magic including spells/amulets/protective charms and idols or black magic curses/binding tablets/voodoo type dolls, Magian - old man with white or black magic) Demi-god - gods will often intervene sometimes helping / sometimes hindering Barbarian / Amazon Centaur Faun Statesman / Orator / Philosopher / Scholar
As you can see, my initial ideas are a jumble - but I think getting to a handful of key archetypes would be key to a Oe type of fit for this theme.
Each player archetype my perhaps a random d6 roll to see which god or goddess they follow. These will endow certain instances of luck during an adventure. Perhaps an additional Luck stat might be useful to exemplify this.

Dig it! OSR and Ancients are a great mix and M&M was a fantastic project. Very interested.

Also, OSR related, Age of Heroes was a good supplement from 2ed. Interesting classes and kits.

Mazes & Minotaurs is a very good OSR game that already covers the genre well. I could see maybe doing one where characters play demi-gods, inspired by the rules in Guardians.
